22 August 2024 – Isabela City. In line with the Philippine government’s ongoing efforts to ensure inclusivity and provide every Filipino with a unique and secure identity, the Philippine Statistics Authority – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PSA-BARMM) urges all parents and guardians to ensure that their children aged 1 to 4 years old are registered for their National Identification (ID) card.

This initiative is part of the implementation of Republic Act No. 11055, also known as the Philippine Identification System Act, which aims to create a unified and inclusive national ID system for all citizens.

Registering children as young as 1 year old under the Philippine Identification System is essential for ensuring that every Filipino is recognized and able to access their rights and benefits. This initiative is a significant step toward creating a more inclusive society, where every citizen, regardless of age, is accounted for and can be identified through a secure and reliable system.

As of 21 August 2024, a total of 16,838 children have successfully registered with the National ID system.
