Before his designation as the Officer-In-Charge of the Philippine Statistics Authority in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Engr. Akan G. Tula served as Agriculturist I in the Provincial Veterinary Office of Maguindanao. He then transitioned to become a Statistician I at the Bureau of Agricultural Statistics Maguindanao. Eventually becoming the Officer – In – Charge, Provincial Agricultural Statistics Officer until the full implementation of Republic Act No. 10625 (Philippine Statistcal Act of 2013). He was roused to Statistical Specialist II and shortly afterwards, to Supervising Statistical Specialist. He assumed the role of Officer-in-Charge, Chief Statistical Specialist in the Provincial Statistical Office in Maguindanao before being promoted to the Chief Administrative Officer of the Regional Statistical Service Office of BARMM.

Engr. Akan G. Tula holds a master’s degree in public administration (MPA) and a Diploma in Development Management (DDM). With a robust professional background spanning 24 years, Engr. Tula has garnered dexterous and extensive experiences and expertise in censuses, surveys, Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), and civil registrations. He is committed to driving the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) BARMM visioning forward with strategic insight and innovative leadership. Additionally, with a keen focus on providing accurate and reliable data that ultimately  inspires the team to achieve excellence and deliver impactful results.
