Organized in collaboration with the Initiatives for Dialogue and Empowerment through Alternative Legal Services (IDEALS), a non-profit organization dedicated to legal advocacy, the event aimed to provide critical legal and identification services to marginalized communities. During the event, the PSA PhilSys team offered essential services such as the Step-2 registration for the National ID, retrieval of Transaction Reference Numbers (TRN), and education on the use of the Digital National ID as a valid and sufficient proof of identity. These efforts are crucial in promoting the government’s goal of creating a more inclusive identity system, which provides access to various public services and enhances legal and social protections. The mission placed special focus on the Indigenous Peoples community and other underrepresented groups in Maguindanao Del Norte who had yet to register for the National ID. By enabling these residents to obtain a National ID, the PSA Maguindanao team played a key role in supporting the inclusivity and security of the Philippine identification system, making it easier for vulnerable communities to access services and benefits.
