In line with the Philippine Government’s commitment to sustaining peace and promoting inclusive development in Mindanao, a collaborative activity was initiated involving the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), the Civil Registry Service (CRS) of Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Sulu, and the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU). This collaboration aimed to support the verification and socio-economic profiling of Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) combatants as part of the normalization process stipulated in the peace agreements.
The event, which took place at Sulu State College, Barangay Bangkal, Patikul, Sulu, from June 24 to 28, 2025, was a major step in reintegrating former MNLF combatants of Barangay Kaunayan, Patikul, Sulu, and Barangay Lower and Upper Talipao into society by giving them access to government programs and services through socioeconomic evaluation and appropriate identity documentation.
