BARMM Records Highest Labor Force Participation Rate Nationwide in January 2023

09 March 2023, Cotabato City – The Philippine Statistics Authority National Statistician and Civil Registrar General, Usec. Dennis S. Mapa, Ph.D., reported the Preliminary Results of the January 2023 Labor Force Survey via Facebook Livestream at 9:00 am, 09 March 2023. The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) recorded the Highest Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR) at 73.2%, while Bicol Region had the lowest LFPR with 59.1%. The result was based on the LFS January round with a total of 44,302 sample households surveyed nationwide conducted from 09 to 31 January 2023.

The LFS is a household-based survey conducted monthly and quarterly across the country that gathers data on the demographic and socio- economic characteristics of the population assesses the state of the labor market in the nation and is used, among other things, to figure out the employment and unemployment rates.
