The PSA-Maguindanao Conducted a convening for the CBMS 2024 Coordinating Board at Municipality of South Upi, Maguindanao Del Sur

A delegation from the Philippines Statistics Authority – Maguindanao made a dedicated journey to the Municipality of South Upi with the aim of acquainting stakeholders with the objectives and significance of the forthcoming CBMS 2024. Senior Statistical Specialist Engr. Suharto M. Sabdula delivered a succinct yet comprehensive address, outlining the advantages and purpose of CBMS 2024. Following this, Statistical Analyst Dynrazil A. Nuron provided additional insights into the necessity of conducting CBMS 2024, emphasizing its critical role in informed decision-making and resource allocation. Nuron also underscored the importance of active participation from the LGU, particularly the coordinating board members, in ensuring the success and relevance of the initiative. The presentation, spanning one hour and 40 minutes, concluded with an opportunity for participants to engage in2 dialogue and seek clarification on the discussed topics.

During the open forum, participants engaged in an insightful exchange of questions and clarifications. Secretary to the Sanggunian Kabataan Rollonino T. Siladan raised an important inquiry regarding the fee exemptions for municipalities under CBMS 2024 and the absence of such exemptions for highly urbanized cities. The presenter responded with clarity, elucidating that municipalities ranging from first class to sixth class, including emerging municipalities, are eligible for fee waivers, whereas highly urbanized cities possess the financial 05capacity to fund CBMS 2024. Subsequently, Municipal Civil Registrar Mr. Kahar B. Santiago posed a scenario regarding territorial claims between barangays. The response highlighted the necessity of legal resolution by the LGU to prevent potential conflicts, underscoring the importance of adherence to established legal frameworks.
