Adolescent Health and Development Program Medical Mission

17 August 2023 – Sultan Mastura. The Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistics Services Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PSA RSSO BARMM), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, took the lead in organizing a significant event, supported by the members of the Technical Working Group of the Adolescent Health and Development Program in BARMM. This event comprised a Medical Mission held in Sultan Mastura, Maguindanao del Norte, as part of the festivities for the Linggo ng Kabataan, centered around the theme "Green Skills for Youth Towards a Sustainable World."

Expressing her gratitude, Baby Norbaina M. Caludtiag, RN, MPA, Population Officer IV of MOH – BARMM, extended heartfelt thanks to all the partners whose participation made the medical mission a reality. Honorable Mayor Zulficar Panda remarked that the occasion was truly historic, marking the first-ever such activity in their Municipality.

He conveyed his profound appreciation to MOH, PSA, and the other ministries present, recognizing the transformative impact of this event on the immediate health concerns of the youth. Engr. Akan G. Tula, OIC – Regional Director of PSA, sent a supportive message that was read by Julhain P. Kamaong. Engr. Tula expressed unwavering backing for this endeavor, affirming PSA BARMM's wholehearted endorsement of the medical mission and their willingness to continue contributing and assisting in future similar initiatives.

The primary objective of the medical mission was to attend to a minimum of 300 adolescents, offering comprehensive medical care, assistance, and various services aimed at enhancing the well-being of the Bangsamoro Youth. These encompassed free medical assistance, medications, wellness programs, free circumcision, and more. PSA effectively attended to a total of 196 individuals during this event, which comprised 4 beneficiaries of ePhil ID printing, 21 individuals in Step 2 PhilSys Registration, and 171 cases of Free Late Birth Registration.
