30 October 2024, Cotabato City – The Philippine Statistics Authority - Regional Statistical Services Office in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PSA-RSSO-BARMM) PSA BARMM successfully conducted the PSA Quiz Bee 4th Regional Championship on 29 October 2024 held at South Seas Complex, Cotabato City.
A total of 15 distinguished members of the Regional Statistics Committee (RSCom) officially competed to wit: Bangsamoro Transition Authority-Policy Research and Legal Services; Ministry of Interior and Local Government (MILG); Bangsamoro Information Office (BIO); Ministry of Public Works (MPW); Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP); Ministry of Finance, Budget, and Management-Bangsamoro Treasury Office (MFBM BTO); Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE); Ministry of Social Science and Development (MSSD); Bangsamoro Information and Communications Technology Office (BICTO); Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR); Ministry of Human Settlements and Development (MHSD); Bangsamoro Commission for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage (BCPCH); Office of the Chief Minister (OCM); Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA); and Office for the Other Bangsamoro Communities (OOBC).
Distinguished guests and dignitaries graced the activity, who also served as board of judges, namely: Dr. Tarhata S. Guiamalon, Director, Office of the Research Programs, Cotabato State University; Professor Jericho Y. Baybayan, Notre Dame University, ISO Internal Auditor; and Joel C. Patiño, Jr., of the Cotabato State University. The quiz bee consisted of three rounds, each with varying levels of difficulty and corresponding one, two, and three points, respectively.
In the final round, Glenndell John V. Beringuel, Engineer II from the Ministry of Public Works, emerged as the Regional Champion. Meanwhile, Bai Omairah M. Yusop, Information officer II of the BIO; Ms. Leanabai M. Sakal, information Technology Officer I of the BPDA, secured Second and Third place, respectively.
The PSA quiz bee is part of the 35th National Statistics Month celebration in BARMM, designed to test the knowledge of the region’s statistical community. It also aims to promote, enhance and instill awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics, among government employees, and the public in general.
