In line with the recently conducted random check and audit of the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) of Sulu, aimed at verifying the proper maintenance and safeguarding of civil registry documents (CRDs), assessing compliance with existing laws, policies, and procedures, and identifying areas for improvement in LCRO operations, personnel from the PSA Central Office visited selected municipalities in Sulu to carry out this initiative. The team included Atty. Ansary S. Cosain (Attorney IV), Officer-in-Charge of Fraud Management Division (FMD); Randolf Ryan D. Nuguid, Registration Officer II; and Ernie M. Somblingo, Registration Officer I. They were accompanied by PSA-Sulu personnel, Darwisa Jakkang, Statistical Specialist II, Nurmina Wahid, Registration Officer I, and Mohammed Najid Aradais, Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) Coordinator.
As part of the activity, the Local Civil Registry Offices of Jolo, Omar, Indanan, and Parang were visited on April 28, 29, 30, and May 2, respectively. These visits aimed to monitor the implementation of civil registration policies, provide technical assistance, and address operational concerns.
The initiative underscores the PSA’s continued commitment to strengthening civil registration systems, ensuring data integrity, and enhancing the quality of services provided by Local Civil Registry Offices.
