On February 13, 2025, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Sulu conducted an outstanding activity in celebration of the 35th Civil Registration Month at the PhilSys Room, Notre Dame Commercial Center, Walled City, Jolo, Sulu. The theme of the event, "Building a Resilient, Agile, and Future-fit Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System," provided the backdrop for an inspiring day with a focus on the need to enhance the civil registration system.

The main event of the day was the On-the-Spot Poster-Making Contest. Different schools were invited to showcase their brilliant talent and imagination in designing the future of civil registration. The event was attended by the different college schools in the province, including Southwestern Mindanao Islamic Institute (SMII), Notre Dame of Jolo College (NDJC), Hadji Butu School of Arts and Trade (HBSAT), Sulu State College (SSC), and Sulu College of Technology (SCT).

The students competed in making expressive art that portrays the 35th Civil Registration Month’s theme. This challenges them to freely express their understanding of the civil registration system’s role in societal development.

The event began with the registration process managed by the secretariat, followed by an invocation led by the Assistant Birth Registration Coordinator, Ibnar Susulan. Chief Statistical Specialist, Engr. Medzhor A. Tan, delivered the opening remarks and gave a remarkable speech that showed the importance of civil registration in fostering national growth and development.

The whole afternoon was filled with excitement and full of energy as participants worked on their poster entries. In between, there was an intermission followed by an afternoon break, giving everyone a moment to relax after the participants showed their wonderful talents and arts.

The contest reached its thrilling conclusion with the awarding of winners. Participants showcased remarkable skill and creativity in their artwork, leading to the following results, SMII emerged as the champion, followed by SCC as the 1st runner-up, and SCT securing the 2nd runner-up position.

Each winner received a certificate of participation and tokens as appreciation to their exceptional work, and a photo opportunity was held to capture the memories of the event.
