
27 June 2025, Cotabato City — The Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistical Services Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PSA RSSO BARMM), in collaboration with the Philippine Statistical Research and Training Institute (PSRTI), successfully conducted a three-day Training on “Interactive Dashboard: Transforming Data into Dynamic Insights Using MS Power BI” from June 24 to 26, 2025, in Cotabato City.
The training was attended by technical staff from various member-agencies of the Regional Statistics Committee–BARMM namely: Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA), Ministry of Interior and Local Government (MILG), Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE), Ministry of Health (MOH), Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE), Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Energy (MENRE), Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR), Ministry of Trade, Investments and Tourism (MTIT), Ministry of Human Settlements and Development (MHSD) , Ministry of Public Works (MPW), Ministry of Finance and Budget and Management (MFBM), Ministry of Finance and Budget and Management - Bangsamoro Treasury Office (MFBM-BTO), Office of the Chief Minister - Technical Management Services (OCM-TMS), Bangsamoro Commission for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage (BCPCH), Bangsamoro Information Office (BIO), Bangsamoro Rapid Emergency Action on Disaster Incidence (BangsamoroREADi), Bangsamoro Transition Authority - Policy Research and Legal Services (BTA-PLRS), Office for Other Bangsamoro Communities (OOBC), The Moropreneur Incorporated (TMI), and Bangsamoro Information and Communications Technology Office (BICTO).
The course aimed to enhance the participants’ skills in data processing and visualization. It introduced them to key features of Microsoft Power BI, including data importing, management, and modeling, as well as the use of Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) for deeper data insights. Participants also learned how to build user-friendly reports and interactive dashboards. The training was designed to strengthen the region’s capacity in using data more efficiently for evidence-based planning and decision-making.
The Philippine Statistical Research and Training Institute (PSRTI) serves as the research and training arm of the Philippine Statistical System (PSS). Mandated under Republic Act No. 10625 or the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013, and now attached to the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev), formerly NEDA, the PSRTI plays a key role in the development of statistical theories, concepts, and methodologies. Its work supports the continuous improvement of the country’s statistical infrastructure to meet the growing demands of national and local development.
