The Philippine Statistics Authority - Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PSA-BARMM) successfully held its General Assembly on the evening of Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Elai Resort and Hotel in Kidapawan City. The event aimed to foster a culture of inclusivity, camaraderie, and teamwork among its dedicated workforces.

This second grand assembly brought together personnel from the Regional Statistical Services Office (RSSO) BARMM and the Provincial Statistics Offices (PSOs) of Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

In his heartfelt message, Engr. Akan G. Tula, OIC Regional Director of PSA-BARMM, reflected on the value of life and the importance of cherishing every moment. “Last year, in this same venue and during similar activities, we had colleagues who are no longer with us today. However, life must go on. This is a reality we all face, but it should remind us to value every moment.”

To honor the memory of employees who passed away in 2024, Engr. Tula led a solemn moment of silence and prayer. He also paid tribute to PSA personnel who are set to retire in 2025, recognizing their dedication and years of service to the organization.

Underscoring the importance of teamwork and unity, Engr. Tula quoted Henry Ford, saying, “Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress, and working together is success.” He encouraged everyone to recognize the value of their contributions to PSA and to remain connected and united in their shared mission.

The event featured a variety of engaging activities that celebrated diversity and inclusivity. A key highlight was the Paligsahan sa Pagkanta, where participants from the RSSO and the five PSOs showcased their musical talents. Another meaningful part of the evening was the symbolic lighting of candles and the collective renouncement of the pledge of commitment, symbolizing unity and dedication to PSA’s mission, vision, and goals.

Adding to the spirit of celebration, attendees enjoyed a spread of provincial delicacies, offering participants the opportunity to experience the unique flavors of each province without the need to travel.

The General Assembly also underscored the importance of stepping back from demanding office routines to build positive connections and promote employee well-being. The event reflected PSA-BARMM’s commitment to fostering a healthy work-life balance and strengthening collaboration across all levels of the organization.
