21 February 2025, RSSO-BARMM, Cotabato City — The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Regional Statistical Services Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (RSSO BARMM) successfully conducted the three-day Second Level Training on the 2025 Crops Production Survey from 18 to 20 February 2024 at RSSO BARMM Office, Cotabato City.

The training was facilitated by the resource persons Marilou A. Gorospe, Statistical Specialist II RSSO-BARMM and Darwisa I. Jakkang, Statistical Specialist II PSA-Sulu. The participants were the provincial Focal persons from PSA-Basilan, PSA-Maguindanao, PSA-Lanao del Sur and PSA-Tawi-Tawi.
The Crops Production Survey is one of the major agricultural surveys conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). It aims to generate estimates on the volume of production, area planted/harvested, number of bearing trees/hills/vines, and farmgate prices for crops other than palay and corn at the national and subnational levels.

The data generated from this survey are disseminated through special releases, bulletins, infographics, and publication. More importantly, the production and farmgate prices generated from the survey are direct inputs to the value of production in the Philippine Agriculture and Fisheries, and accordingly to the preparation of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

CSS Eloja emphasized the supervisors' important role in ensuring the successful conduct of the survey operations. He also stressed the importance of maintaining the quality and integrity of the data from data gathering until its release.
